In Social Studies:
-Last week, we watched a few videos which I have posted in ``Links`` about the various ways to say Hello around the world
-We also learned about places where French is spoken in America
-We started a project about `Our history`: where we are born, languages spoken in our house, schools we attended, our favorite childhood memory, etc.
-We started learning about how to create a glog online with Mme Hunter at the library
-We wll start a research in SS this week. Grade 3: a province in Canada Grade 4: A country of the world
In French Language Arts:
- Dictée this week is le son "ei" or "eil"
- We are looking at writing to describe a process (Step 1...)
- Grammar --introduction to verbs in the first group at the present tense (More in depth after the break)
- Our Literacy centres follow the theme of "La vie sécrète des bonhommes de neige"
- Summarizing strategy (Somebody, Wanted, But, So)
In English Language Arts:
- self-evaluation of "Keep Wilbur Warm" project
- Summarizing strategy (Somebody, Wanted, But, So)
- Talking tables to review chapters of Charlotte's Web
In Science:
- We are continuing our online research of our Endangered Species. Students are working on a "Prezi" online presentation. Next week, they may have a few finishing touches to work on at home.
In Math:
-Estimating to introduce the idea of 1000 (Grade 3)
- Estimating to help in adding large sums (Grade 4)
- On going addition, subtraction and multiplication activities
